As a Presbyterian Church, CPC is led by elders (together called a “Session”) who have been internally called by God, externally called by the church, tested and approved, and then ordained to serve God’s people as faithful shepherds under the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Our elders are accountable to one another, regionally to the other elders who serve in the Presbytery of Southern California, and nationally to the whole church in the General Assembly of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
Andrew Canavan, Pastor
Rev. Andrew Canavan is the pastor of Corona Presbyterian Church. In this role, he preaches and teaches the Bible; leads worship services; provides counsel and discipleship; and, with the overseeing session of CPC, leads and shepherds the congregation. Andrew has been the pastor at CPC since May 2019 but he and his family have been part of CPC from the very first worship service in November 2016. Andrew is married to Rebekah and they have been blessed with 3 wonderful children. Andrew received a B.A. in History and a M.A. in Theology from Wheaton College and a M.Div. from Westminster Seminary California. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, perfecting his pizza technique, and burning off those calories by running.

Chris Hartshorn, Elder
Rev. Chris Hartshorn is the regional home missionary for the Presbytery of Southern California. As RHM, Chris works in Southern California, Hawaii, and Arizona with groups interested in planting reformed churches and supports church planters in their work to establish healthy OPC congregations. Prior to this call, Chris served as organizing pastor at Anaheim Hills Presbyterian Church (now Resurrection Presbyterian) and led the Bible study in Corona that launched CPC in 2016. Before joining the OPC, Chris was a Calvary Chapel pastor and church planter. He lives in Anaheim Hills with his wife, Megan, and their four children.
Brent Murphy, Elder
Ruling Elder Brent Murphy came to Christ at the age of 18. After time spent in other churches, Brent and his family joined Calvary OPC in La Mirada where he was first ordained as a ruling elder. The Murphy family joined CPC in 2021 and Brent was installed as a CPC elder in 2022. Outside of work and service to the church, Brent enjoys gardening and also serves on the board of our presbytery’s annual family camp, Blue Ridge Bible Conference. He lives in Chino Hills with his wife, Dannielle, and two daughters.
Ray Sahagun, Deacon
Ray Sahagun’s high school football and wrestling coaches were instrumental in him coming to know the Lord. After college, Ray served in campus ministry doing evangelism and discipleship with Campus Crusade. During this time, he came to Reformed convictions and, ever since, has been part of OPC and PCA churches in California and Arizona. Ray and his family were part of CPC’s original core group and Ray was installed as a deacon in 2022. In his free time, Ray enjoys cooking (especially with his smoker), and spending time with friends and family by his backyard fire pit. Ray lives in Norco with his wife Cheryl and their young adult children.
