NEW TO CPC?
We would love to have you visit Corona Presbyterian Church! We hope to meet you soon but, in the meantime, here are answers to common questions about visiting CPC. You can also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the church at 951-444-1309 and we would be happy ao answer your questions!
WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS CORONA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH?
Corona Presbyterian Church is a Gospel-centered church, committed to the good news about Jesus Christ and His redeeming work. We are part of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. That means that our beliefs about what the Bible teaches are summarized faithfully in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. It also means that we are connected to other churches throughout Southern California and across North America.
CPC is also a mission work, or church plant, of the OPC's Presbytery of Southern California. We began meeting for worship in November 2016 and we are asking the Lord to bless this growing congregation as we worship Him, grow in grace, and reach our communities.
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE SERVICES?
We gather for worship every Sunday morning at 9:30am at Beth Shalom Messianic Jewish Congregation (2790 California Ave. Corona, CA 92881). After a time of fellowship, there are Sunday School classes for adults and children at 11:20am.
We also gather for singing, Bible study, and prayer on Sunday evenings at 6:00pm at the homes of various CPC members.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear whatever is most comfortable! Our pastor usually wears a tie and jacket but people at CPC wear everything from ties, to jeans, to shorts and golf shirts. The important thing is to come ready for joyful and reverent worship of our God on the basis of the finished work of Jesus Christ.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?
When you arrive you can expect to be greeted by a CPC member who will hand you a bulletin (a guide to the worship service) and is happy to answer your questions. In the foyer, grab a red Trinity Hymnal from the table and enter the main room on the right. Sit wherever you'd like!
WHAT IS A SERVICE LIKE?
Our worship service is structured as a dialogue between God and His people. You'll notice we read the Bible frequently, spend a lot of time praying, and do a lot of singing during each service. Most of the songs we sing come from a hymnal, but we emphasize songs from many eras of church history that have words that are true to the Bible and tunes that are easy to sing together. Our worship is reverent and joyful. We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take God, and the worship he requires, very seriously.
HOW CAN I MEET OTHERS AND GET CONNECTED?
The first step to connecting with CPC is to simply join us for worship! Stick around afterwards for a time of fellowship. CPC is a warm and welcoming community and we would love to meet you! Join us for Sunday School, Sunday Evening Bible Study, or one of the many events we have throughout the year. If you have questions, need prayer, or want to talk to someone about spiritual matters, don't hesitate to contact our pastor or one of our elders. It would be our honor to speak with you!
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
At CPC we encourage families to worship together and love to see everyone from newborns to seniors gathered together as the people of God--and we don't mind the extra noise and activity that kids sometimes bring!
At the same time, we realize that parents sometimes need to give special attention to their children during the worship service. We've set aside a room down the hall from the main room for when these needs arise. Here you can attend to your children while listening to the audio of the worship service.
